"Hello, my name is Mary and my daughter has a developmental disability. Gaining equality and opportunities for my daughter hasn't been easy. We knew the potential of our daughter was going unnoticed, but we couldn't get anyone to listen. Our family looked to our school for support, but we didn't find much. Then a friend told me about an advocacy organization called The Arc. It was one of the best decisions we ever made."
"Hello, I'm Alex. I stand for independence, equal rights and equality for all. I've been a member of The Arc since 1996. My brother, Dan, was born with severe developmental disabilities. He is capable, motivated, and eager to live and work in society. Many people dismiss Dan due to their own inability to accept differences. We fight for the right for him to be self-sufficient. Dan can contribute if given the chance. With support and awareness we can change things for the better."

"Living in your own home, working a steady job, and operating self-sufficiently may be something you overlook, but for people like my sister, Allison, this means the world. Allison has a developmental disability. She can help your company and maintain her own home. Allison and people like her shouldn't be forced into a life controlled by others. We joined The Arc in 2004. It was a great decision. Allison speaks for herself and supports others like her.  We gained peace of mind and empowerment."
